I am pleased to inform you that the Institute of Plant Protection, University of Debrecen, together with its partners, organizes the Trans-Tisza Plant Protection Forum traditionally held every October in Debrecen.
The conference will also be an international professional event, the 13th International Plant Protection Conference in Debrecen (11th IPPS in Debrecen).

A konferencia céljai:
Professional knowledge is related to everything in today's world. The importance and responsibility of expertise in plant protection and food safety is even greater. Proper management of the comprehensive changes in our world further increases the value of knowledge. The main theme of the conference is the analysis of the relationship between expertise and practice.
Discussion and analysis of new challenges arising from global and local environmental and social changes in the fields of plant protection and food safety.
Analysis of the effects of the intensive geographical spread of pests, presentation of new, modern, sustainable plant protection opportunities.
Presentation of the research results of eminent domestic and foreign researchers, teachers, plant protection companies, and university students.
Promote the practical application and widest dissemination of the latest plant protection research results.
Fields of the conference:
- Effects of global and local environmental and social changes on plant protection.
- With or without chemical pesticides? Would the efforts of the international "green lobby" really create a healthier, greener, more abundant, and more livable world?
- Results of recent research on pests on arable, horticultural, and forestry crops (plant pathology, entomology, weed managing, and biology).
- Plant hygienic and food safety risks during global trade (increased spread of invasive species)
- Global effects of general and economic policy on the food supply of mankind.
- Changes in pest management techniques (trends for decreasing pesticide usage, IPM, developing alternative strategies).
- Opportunities and obstacles in the application of modern, precision techniques (nanotechnology, drones, etc.) in crop protection.
- What should be preferable, either local food production or global food treatment in reflection of ecological footprint? Challanges and future.
